Our Hall
Breakaway Youth currently occupies a hall in Preston which houses our office space, camping and adventure equipment storage The use of this hall also provides us with a large indoor area for our metro-based programs like school holiday program.
Our Home
Breakaway Youth owns Glendale, a 45-Acre property located south of Taggerty. This facility is 70% natural bush, with the rest cleared to provide areas for camping and activities. On the site there are three buildings, Miller’s lodge which can accommodate up to 20 people; Merv’s Cabin and a large storage shed. Since the Black Saturday Fires in 2009, we have installed solar power, fire safety infrastructure, improved vehicle access and vastly increased the water storage.

Based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, our participants reside in the Banyule and Whittlesea area. We specifically take our campers out of their local area, so that they can have a break away from their home lives, be reminded that they belong and that we hold hope for each of them.
