The Bottles 4 Breakaway Initiative utilises the Government’s Container Deposit Scheme, which has given us a way to raise funds without any financial burden to you, while adding the additional benefit of caring for our environment, and as a result helping us to support our Youth in the long run indirectly, while also teaching them the value of our world as well through this communal effort.
By recycling your empty cans, bottles and some containers, the 10 cents refund for each one can come directly to us at Breakaway Youth and it won’t cost you a thing!
How to donate?
All you need is a mobile phone and a way to collect/store your bottles and containers! Follow these easy steps and start donating today.
Set Up the App
1. Download the CDS Vic North App for IOS or download via Google Play Store to your phone.
2. Enter your details and log in.
3. Click DONATIONS and add Breakaway Youth as your donation partner
Start Donating
- Collect your cans, plastic and glass bottles and containers!
- Take your treasures to a refund point using the CDS Vic North App.
To find one near you, click on REFUND POINTS on the app and it will take you to a map where you can search for the closest one to you. (There are 2 types – the big Reverse Vending Machines you see everywhere, plus some milk bars and other businesses.) - When you arrive, scan the barcode on the App and then feed your containers into the vending machine one by one, or hand them over to the milk bar owner to help you.
